MIDROC is the peak representative body for the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Bellingen, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour and Nambucca.
MIDROC extends from Yamba in the north to Eungai in the south and west to Dorrigo; covers an area of ore than 14,709 square kilometres and represents more than 155,500 residents.

MIDROC serves to:
- Advocate to and inform all spheres of government of the economic, social, environmental and infrastructure needs of the region.
- Strengthen the role of local government in regional affairs with regard to policy and strategic directions of both State and Federal government.
- Support the implementation of strategies that will build community capacity across the region and
- increase the effectiveness and efficiency of member councils through sharing ideas and resources
In pursuing these objectives MIDROC acts to build and maintain close working relationships with state and federal governments and through providing stewardship for member councils in pursuit of achieving sustainability in delivering services that the community needs and aspires to.
The Board of MIDROC comprises of the Mayors and General Managers from each of the member Councils. This Board is supported by an Executive Officer.

MIDROC is governed by a Constitution, and regular Board meetings are quarterly. The Board can meet as required outside of scheduled meetings.
